Christi McGuire, freelance editor, writer, and consultant, has been in the Christian publishing industry for sixteen years. She has published more than one hundred magazine articles and dozens of children’s devotionals and curriculum. Currently, her primary focus is partnering with authors in the creative process to polish their nonfiction book manuscripts and help them navigate the path to publishing through her company CM Creative Consulting LLC.
She has had the honor of working with notable authors, such as New York Times bestselling author Rachel Macy Stafford, multi-published author Cheri Gregory, debut author Kelly Balarie, and pastors Dr. Craig L. Oliver, Sr. and Dr. Bill Bennett and Josh Franklin, as well as publishers such as Rainer Publishing and LifeWay Christian Resources.
Christi is a co-owner of the Christian Editor Network LLC, which equips and empowers Christian editors and is the parent company to four organizations. She is the director for two of those organizations: the Christian Editor Connection, which connects writers with freelance editors; and The PEN Institute, which is an online educational institute for Christian editors. Christi is also a member of the Editorial Freelance Association (EFA) and is on the teaching faculty for PENCON, the only annual conference for Christian editors in the industry.
Throughout each year, Christi teaches three courses for The PEN Institute: Establishing Your Freelance Business, Freelance Editing 101, and Editing Nonfiction Book Proposals. She also individually mentors aspiring editors through The PEN Institute.
Along with two friends and coauthors, Christi released her first book in January 2017. When’s It My Turn? is a collection of short stories about motherhood. Visit the website for more information and a link to buy: www.WhensItMyTurn.com.
